Amazon Prime is the Amazon one day delivery service. Not only can you get a huge selection of items delivered the next day, you also get a ton of other benefits as well.
What is Amazon Prime?
Amazon Prime is Amazons subscription based service where members receive benefits which include free fast shipping for eligible purchases, streaming of movies, TV shows and music, exclusive shopping deals, unlimited reading and so much more.
Where can you get Amazon Prime?
You can sign up for a free month trial of Amazon Prime to test out the services. If you like it, you can then choose to pay monthly or annually.
You can sign up on the Amazon website here*
If you do sign up for a free trial, you must remember to cancel it before it ends. Otherwise you may be charged.
How much does it cost?
To become a prime member it costs:
£79.99 per year or £7.99 a month.
It works out slightly cheaper if you pay for a full year in advance as it would end up costing you:
1 month free trial + 11 x £7.99 = £87.89
12 x £7.99 = £95.88
What are the benefits?
Amazon Prime does come with a ton of benefits.
If, like me, you are pretty impatient when it comes to waiting for deliveries – the next day delivery is perfect. In fact, you might get so used to it waiting 3 – 5 days for standard delivery from other retailers can be frustrating.
Below I have listed just some of the benefits a Prime membership entitles you too.
Unlimited One-Day Delivery to UK addresses on millions of eligible items at no extra cost. This does depend on your postcode as some delivery options may not be available.
Prime Video gives members within the UK unlimited streaming of movies and TV episodes.
Prime Music is Amazon’s optimised music service that allows Amazon Prime customers to stream, store, manage and play music anywhere from the cloud.
Get 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals on Amazon.co.uk.
Amazon Prime members save 20% on eligible nappy and baby food subscriptions (excluding formula).
Kindle Owners’ Lending Library gives Prime members access to borrow one book per month at no additional cost. You can also borrow books, magazines, and more from the Prime Reading catalogue and read them on your Fire tablet, Kindle e-reader, or the Kindle reading apps for iOS and Android.
You can see the full list of benefits here*.
Can you cancel?
You can end your Amazon Prime membership, or cancel your free trial (to ensure it doesn’t convert to a full Amazon Prime membership) in the Settings section of Your Account.
